The Materials Lecture Competition 2012 was held on July 9^th 2012 at the Sunway Hotels and Resorts, Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the 8^th International Materials Technology Conference and Exhibition (IMTCE2012) and was being organized for the first time by the Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM). National Symposium of Polymeric Material (NSPM) is well known as an effective platform for researchers, academicians and industrialist nationwide to share their knowledge and innovative thinking especially in the field of Polymer Science and Technology. It offers an excellent opportunity to create an effective networking among participants from various expertises. The first NSPM was held at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in the year 2001 and again this year USM is proud and honored to be entrusted one more time to organize this significant event. The Plastics and Rubber Institute of Malaysia (PRIM) is the co-organizer for this upcoming NSPM 2012 and has done similarly in the past few years.
