Team from SMMRE – M. Fikri (Yr 3, Materials Eng.), Lutfi Amir (Yr 3, Polymer Eng.), Suhaib (Yr 3, Materials Eng.), Daniel Ariff (Yr 3 Mineral Resources Eng.) and Nur Ilyah (Yr 2, Arts) competed in 1st Edition Spirit Aerosystems Design Competition 2022 held from April 2022 to June 2022 (design preparation) and final design solution was presented 20th June 2022. 7 teams from 6 different universities competed with an objective to optimize packaging of aerospace components to meet their shipping needs. Team advisor is Assoc. Prof. Dr Nurulakmal (SMMRE) and Dr Siti Suhaily (Sch. of Arts). Despite not winning the top prize, team members gained valuable experience trying to solve industry problem, i.e optimizing their packaging arrangement and optimizing space in the all their shipping packages.
